Quilt Making Gets Underway!

On Friday 13 October 2017 sewing enthusiasts from the local community gathered at the Lesser Hall in Cowbridge Town Hall to help make the Cowbridge Commemorative war quilt.

This was the first event to kick started the making of the quilt and those participating did a great job handsewing soldiers names, date of death and regiment on panels of fabric which will form the main body of the quilt.

And, it was great that we had David Howell from the Cowbridge Branch of the British Legion on hand to give our sewing enthusiasts some background information on the soldiers they were sewing a panel for….

We were also grateful for the support of Deputy Mayor,Councillor Terry Williams and Deputy Mayoress Mrs Jane Williams.

And a after a long sewing stint for which we are eternally grateful we had some beautifully stitched panels handed in!

Our next sewing session will be on Thursday 26 October 2017 – same time – same place!
