Christmas has, once again, come and gone and the New Year is just around the corner. But, whilst enjoying the festive season some of us have been able to pack in a bit of art work.
Our conservatory was buzzing a couple of days ago when my son and Layla, his partner were busy making art. Layla has been making some wonderful papercuts and I was lucky enough to receive one in my stocking. Here, she is busy making a picture for one of her family.
It is no mean feat creating one of her pictures. She spent the whole day doing the one above.
And, before Christmas she had been busy making a video which used papercut images.
Whilst Layla was busy with her work my son was busy with mine – sorting out a pattern that I had downloaded from the internet.
Well, it makes a change from sorting out my blogs!
As is the norm over Christmas we went away with friends on 29 December. It is a tradition that has developed over the past 10 years. We stay at one of Wales finest restaurants with rooms. And, this year it was the Ty Mawr in Brechfa. We have been there once before and it never fails to please.
To add to the magic we travelled on a lovely sunny crisp and frosty day. On the way we browsed the shops in Llandeilo – a town definitely on the up. We found the most amazing chocolate shop
This was a wedding cake that was in the window- rather gruesome?
This one was a bit more traditional.
Before reaching Ty Mawr we stopped off at Tally Abbey which was beautiful drenched in ice and with the sun setting in the distance.
There was a low mist over the lake.
And, the trees were reflected beautifully by the setting sun.
A beautiful and magical site to behold!
It will soon be time to welcome in the New Year and no doubt many more pleasurable activities over the coming months!
Hapy New Year
