Lockdown in St Hilary

We are currently living in strange times – locked down at home indefinitely to help curtail the spread of Covid-19! However, whilst there is the danger of cabin fever evolving there are some plus factors. The weather has been amazing – sunny and hot – meaning that we can get out for daily walks, and I have plenty of material and UFOs (unfinshed pieces of work) to keep me occupied.

Whilst I have plenty to finish I seem to be easily distracted….. on things that can be finished quickly and for a good cause. One of our Cutting Edge Textile group members asked if we could make Beads of Courage bags for her daughter in law who works in University Hospital of Wales. Quick and simple and a great way to use up lots of those small bits of fabric – and I eventually managed to complete eighteen.

And then there was a call for headbands for NHS staff – needed to avoid getting sore ears from wearing masks all day. Another great use of small pieces of fabric – fourteen completed and I could do more – but what about those UFO’s!
